As you can tell from my posts, I have been visiting friends on the coasts lately. It was a great 4 days in Manhatten - the architecture, museums, and everything else were amazing and beautiful and inspiring and many more words that I can’t fit in one post. But the most important part of the trip was that I met someone I never knew before.
Oh, I met her before. But I never really met her. She is my neighbor’s daughter. About 10 years younger than me, she was always the kid who ran around while we were working on projects and then she grew up to be the girl I would have beers with but now I see her with a totally different aspect - a businesswoman with the confidence and maturity of a potentate with a just enough of the innocence and curiosity left over to keep her fun and interesting.
It was a surprise and a pleasure to encounter her.
Travel really opens ones eyes to the things we take for granted.
